Snowed in and bored, so this is my build thread. I will update the first page with all my picture progress!!!
Cell phone pics start it off but I have a digital camera now, so sorry about the crappy ones at first
My car has a carbon hood that i just don't like anymore, paint rubbed off on the repainted front bumper, and there is a dent in the driver's fender. So... I'm taking advantage of having to fix this stuff (an excuse) and turning my car into a JTI.

Complete jetta front end:

Adding drop in 8000k HID's:

Received some packages from FedEx in 18x8 & 18x11:

Resonated but no muffler, not even with headers and high-flow cat yet!

Gutted the nasty interior from the shoulders up!

interior LEDs:

Stripped the headliner of the water-spotted & ruined grey cloth:

Stripped off all the ()^(&*%#*(^%*& foam, which SUCKED, but my rotary DA got it done a lot quicker for me

Recovered in black headliner material, using 3M super 90 (perfect adhesive for this IMO):

What is that in the picture!?!?! The pillars, and the sunroof motor cover... what happened to them? =)

Plaid goodness:

Representing Deutschland

Got the 295/30's dismounted from the rear wheels yesterday, test fitting just the wheel. (once again the rear dimensions are 18x11 ET 45 + 20mm adapter = Final ET 25)
Damn these wheels are LIGHT for their size and design! Hollow spokes for ya. I want to weigh one before they get rubber on them...
Anyways, here are my results:
My inner clearance, about 7mm:

=)

Overall the poke isn't as much as I thought. Less than an inch. Next I figure out what tires to run!
Got a hollow autotech RSB and stripped it down and gave it 2 coats of "Por-15" which is an enamel that bonds to rust and is literally as tough as steel when it's cured.

B5.5 Passat projector on (L) and BMW E55 on the ®:

What a dremel, some PVC and some patience can do for you: (major props to Tim for advice and help, couldn't have gotten this far without you buddy )

Frank did most of the work, I watched as he completely retrofitted the housings.:

Koni Coilovers:

Did a little playing around today with a mk5 gas door popper, and a few small pieces of hardware. The mk5 popper used the same wiring/plug and everything as the mk4 stock lock solenoid that I removed. Overall I'v VERY happy with the results.
I'm not really going over it step by step at the moment, but I think you can tell what I did from the pictures.
MK5 gas door popper mounted

View from passenger side

Needed hardware other than the mk5 popper (the long piece is a pioneer radio removal key that was modified)

Hardware assembled and ready to go in the hatch

Final assembly

And a video!!!

My alternator took a crap, so the jetta front end and a beefed up alternator are going back on.
THE RECONSTRUCTION BEGINS!!!!1!

fU#@*(&ING hOORAY!

I'll be riding this while the gti is in the garage. This is my fast

Hi

Busy busy busy.... got it all together, just have to tweak the hood and fenders a bit, and put in some new fender liners.
I learned that my camera SUCKS at night!

Overall progress from before to photochop: ||||------
